Anxiety and depressions are quite normal feelings nowadays. Feeling the same is not embarrassing at all. However, you should know the signs which may indicate that you are suffering from mental problems.
1. Feeling anxious or worried- Getting worried or stressed from time to time is a regular thing in today’s world. However, anxiety could be a sign of a mental health disorder when one worries constantly. Other warnings of anxiety include heart palpitations, shortness of breath, headache, sweating, trembling, feeling dizzy, restlessness, diarrhea, or a racing mind.
2. Feeling depressed or unhappy- Second sign is feeling depressed or unhappy. Again, depression also includes being sad, lacking motivation and energy, losing interest in a hobby, or being teary all the time.
3. Emotional outbursts- Everyone has different moods. However, if you see sudden and dramatic changes in the mood then this can be a symptom of mental illness.
4. Sleep problems- If one studies then change in a person’s sleeping pattern are also a symptom of a mental health disorder. Such as suffering from insomnia or sleeping too much or too little.
5. Weight or appetite changes- Fluctuating weight or rapid weight loss can also be one of the indication signs of a mental health disorder. For instance depression or an eating disorder.
6. Quiet or withdrawn- The nature of withdrawing from life is a sign of mental health disorder. Such as if someone is regularly isolating themselves, then they may have depression, bipolar disorder, a psychotic disorder, or another mental health disorder.
7. Substance abuse- Using materials to tolerate life, such as alcohol or drugs, is also a sign of mental health conditions.
8. Feeling guilty or worthless- Feelings like ‘I’m a failure or ‘It’s my fault’ are signs of a mental health disorder, such as depression. A person when conveying a feeling to hurt or kill themselves could be also a sign.
9. Changes in behavior or feelings- A mental health disorder can start changes in a person’s feelings, thinking, and behavior too.
