Major OTT release: Read more to know when, where to watch this HIT!!
Major, the Adivi Sesh-starrer that received a lot of love from fans and critics alike and even became a box office success, is now coming to OTT. The film, which follows Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who died in the line of duty while fighting terrorists during the 2008 Mumbai serial attacks, will be available on Netflix on July 3.
Sharing the update, Adivi took to Instagram and wrote, “Extremely blessed. Millions of people have seen #Major in theaters, now #MajorTheFilm hits @NetflixIndia on JULY 3rd. You know the man. Now you’ll know his story.”
Sashi Karan Tikka has directed the movie Major. Sobhita Dhulipala, Saiee Manjrekar, Prakash Raj, Revathi, and Murli Sharma are also featured in the movie.

Major was released on the same day as two other films, Akshay Kumar’s Samrat Prithviraj and Kamal Haasan’s actioner Vikram. While Kamal Haasan’s film went on to become a box office smash, Akshay’s film bombed. Adivi’s Major, on the other hand, was well received by the audience and proved to be a profitable film for the producers despite being made on a low budget.
Talking about the film, Adivi had said, “Major is not a film that can be taken just as a film, it is an emotion, it is my life’s best work. It is the life story of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan and we have gotten this medal from the National Security Guard as a commendation for what we have made.”
Major, produced by Sony Pictures International Productions, GMB Entertainment Pvt Limited, and A+S Movies, was released on June 3 in Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam.
Adivi plays Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan in the film, who gave his life fighting terrorists and rescuing 14 hostages at the Taj Hotel.
