PM Modi congratulates Benjamin Netanyahu on winning Israel elections
Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote in Hebrew on Twitter and congratulated Benjamin Netanyahu on winning the general elections in Israel.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday congratulated Benjamin Netanyahu, who won the Israeli general elections. PM Modi wrote in Hebrew on Twitter and said, “I look forward to continuing our joint efforts to deepen the strategic partnership between India and Israel.”

He also thanked the outgoing Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid for his “important contribution to the strategic partnership of India and Israel.” He further added, “I hope to continue our fruitful exchange of ideas for the mutual benefit of our people.”

Lapid conceded defeat to Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday after the latter’s party Likud and its far-right allies won a clear majority. The Netanyahu-led right-wing bloc won 64 seats in the 120-member Knesset – the Israeli parliament.
