Pakistan: Blast in Karachi University campus supposedly targets Chinese nationals

An explosion has been reported in Karachi University, according to DawnNewsTV.

Television footage showed a white van in flames with plumes of smoke rising from its remains. It also showed police and rescue services present at the scene on the incident.

The rescue services said that a “cylinder blast” took place in a Hiace van near Maskan Chowrangi. However, police has not yet commented on the nature of the blast.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took notice of the incident and directed the Counter-Terrorism Department and SSP East to immediately reach the site.According to unconfirmed reports, the death toll in the blast at Karachi University has risen to four. According to police officials, the victims were Chinese and they were teachers.
