Twitter’s new Notes feature: Soon you will be able to tweet more than 200 words

Twitter is testing the new notes tool with a small group of users before making it public.

On Wednesday, Twitter Inc. announced that it was testing a new feature dubbed “Notes,” which would allow users to submit essay-like write-ups as links both on and off the social media network.

Along with the “Notes” function, Twitter Write will now include newsletter firm Revue, which it purchased last year.

The long-form feature is currently being tested by a small number of writers, and Twitter has not provided any other information about its larger roll-out. The business presently limits tweets to 280 characters, a measure it began testing over five years ago.

Twitter surprised users in April when it announced that it would begin testing a new editing option, dubbed “the most requested feature in many years,” in the coming months.

Tesla Inc CEO Elon Musk, the world’s richest person according to Forbes magazine, is in the process of buying the company for $44 billion. But Musk held the deal due to the large number of fake accounts available on Twitter.
