DDMA To Meet Today Amidst Spike In Covid-19 Cases

In light of the recent increase in Covid-19 cases, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) will conduct a meeting on April 20 to examine steps to prevent the spread of coronavirus throughout the city.
The meeting will be attended by Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijlal, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the Director of AIIMS, and members of the Planning Commission.
The mask mandate, as well as a hybrid teaching model for schools, are likely to be considered during the meeting.
According to health department data, Delhi’s Covid-19 positive rate increased to 7.72 per cent on Monday, as the city registered 501 new cases, 16 less than the previous day.
“The Delhi Disaster Management Authority’s meeting is scheduled to be held on Wednesday next week under the chairmanship of the Lt Governor. It will discuss the prevailing Covid-19 situation, including the recent rise in the number of cases,” a senior Delhi government official said.
