Popular fashion trends of 2022 that were influenced by K-pop idols

K-pop is the new culture and we are definitely following every bit of it!

K-pop has largely taken over the world, and it is now expanding into new areas. We’ve seen BTS and Blackpink’s Lisa make their runway debuts with Louis Vuitton and Celine, respectively, while Givenchy signed aespa as their first idol brand ambassador. So it’s only natural that we look at the current fashion trends of 2022 as inspired by our favourite K-pop idols.

Flowery Sundresses

This summer, the iconic floral sundress will be seen in South Korea, albeit with K-pop idols putting their own spin on it, from Somi to Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun. For her solo debut, Yerin went for a summery theme, wearing cold shoulder dresses or long flowing pastel dresses with hair bows that highlighted her charms. Meanwhile, Blackpink’s Lisa updated the classic sundress silhouette with a baseball cap and The Matrix-inspired glasses, which are making a comeback.

Low Rise Mini Skirts

Low rise bottoms have always been considered a daring fashion statement. However, with Miu Miu bringing the style back with their low rise miniskirts, we may reconsider. YoonA of Girls’ Generation recently went for a more casual look, wearing an oversized shirt with a beige frayed skirt.

Backless Tops

We appear to be going for the ‘less is more’ route in 2022, with idols doubling up scarves as tops or selecting backless tops perfect for the summer look. Backless tops are the most popular choice for Sunmi and Loona’s Heejin. Jennie from Blackpink debuted her new avatar for Coachella with orange hair, minimal makeup, and a backless string top, while Soyeon from (G)I-DLE went for a grunge look with a backless knitted pullover.

Cropped Jackets

Ateez’s Seonghwa made a statement in the ‘Rocky’ music video wearing a cropped jacket, while aespa’s Giselle channelled her edgy persona in a chic, knitted cropped jacket at Coachella. Yuna from Itzy chose the perfect denim cropped jacket to accentuate her tiny waist, whereas Jungkook from BTS knew exactly what the fans wanted when he wore a black cropped jacket that revealed his body chain during their Las Vegas concert.

This we were some of the trends that we saw in your fav KPOP stars. Tell us which would like to try out in the comments.
