India to launch 6G services by the end of this decade : PM Modi
While speaking at a function commemorating the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) silver jubilee, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi stated that 5G will significantly contribute to the growth and development of the Indian economy. It is predicted that 5G would contribute $450 billion to the Indian economy in the future years, Prime Minister Modi remarked during a press conference yesterday.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of connectivity, saying that the speed of progress in 21st-century India will be determined by connectivity. 5G technology will also help to improve the country’s governance, quality of life, and ease of conducting business. Agricultural, health, education, infrastructure, and logistics would all benefit from this, PM Modi stated during the video conference.

He also stated that 6G services will be available in India by the end of the decade, and that a task group is already working to develop 6G capabilities in India. By the end of this decade, we should be able to deploy 6G services, PM Modi said, adding that his task group is working on it.
This will also improve convenience and provide several job chances.” Both government and business initiatives are required for a quick rollout of 5G, he noted.
India is planning to launch 6G services by the end of this decade and a task force has started working in that direction, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday, underscoring the importance of faster and efficient technology in accelerating development and employment generation.
Modi said the telecom sector is one of the great examples of how self-reliance and healthy competition could create a multiplier effect on society and the economy. Coming out of the despair, frustration, corruption, and policy paralysis of the 2G era, the country has moved rapidly from 3G to 4G and now 5G, and 6G, he said.
