A man who was released on bail after being arrested in a rape case in 2020 allegedly sexually assaulted the same girl with a knife in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur district. The man allegedly also threatened her with dropping the complaint she had filed against him.
According to PTI, the girl stated that the incident, which involved the accused and his companion, occurred about a month ago.
Patan police station in-charge Asif Iqbal, “According to the complainant, accused Vivek Patel, who had previously raped her, did the same act with his companion.”
In December 2019, a similar crime was reported from unnao, uttar pradesh where a rape complainant who was on her way to court was assaulted and set on fire by five men, including the two who were accused of raping her a year ago.
As she was on her way to nearby town Raibareli to testify against the criminals in a local court she was waylaid, attacked, stabbed and then finally doused with kerosene and set ablaze in broad daylight.
The 23-year-old who suffered 90% burns was taken to Lucknow’s Civil Hospital and later airlifted to Delhi for better treatment.
She died two days later in Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital.
