Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) on Saturday announced its decision to allow the ongoing Amarnath Yatra only on alternate days due to the decreasing number of pilgrims.
Jammu-Srinagar national highway was blocked on Wednesday due to landslide in Ramban district causing suspension of Amarnath Yatra from Jammu to Srinagar.
Around 7,000 pilgrims performed the ongoing Amarnath Yatra on its 30th day as another batch of 1,550 pilgrims left Jammu for the Valley on Monday, officials said.
Over 18,000 pilgrims performed the ongoing Amarnath Yatra on its fifth day on Wednesday while another batch of 6,554 pilgrims left Jammu for the Valley on Thursday.
