Tennis legend Rafael Nadal earns 300th Grand Slam victory

Rafael Nadal won his 300th Grand Slam match on Wednesday, marking yet another milestone in his illustrious career. On Court Philippe Chatrier, the Spaniard had a worthy opponent in fellow lefty Corentin Moutet, but he had an answer for everything the Frenchman threw at him.
With his 6-3, 6-1, 6-4 triumph, Nadal became only the third man to win 300 Grand Slam matches, trailing only Roger Federer (369) and Novak Djokovic (324). “I’m delighted I won in three sets; that’s an important fact for me, and it gives me the opportunity to work harder tomorrow and prepare for the match against a strong opponent,” said Nadal, who will face Botic van de Zandschulp on Friday. “
So, let’s see what happens. I’m pleased with a lot of what I accomplished tonight, so let’s try to keep going and improve tomorrow.” Nadal controlled the baseline and persistently attacked Moutet’s serve in the evening’s last match on Chatrier, winning just under half of his return points (36/75) and converted seven of his 12 break opportunities.
