Sourav Ganguly’s 50th Birthday Celebration with Sachin Tendulkar and Jay Shah. Check out the pictures

On Friday, Sourav Ganguly, the president of the BCCI, will be 50. (July 8). The former India captain celebrated his early birthday with Sachin Tendulkar and other BCCI executives while he was in the UK. Tendulkar joined his old teammate to celebrate while he was in the UK.

The celebratory photos are going viral on social media, and Sachin and Ganguly’s fans are astonished to see them together. In 136 matches, the previous India leaders put created a strong opening partnership in 50-over cricket, scoring 6609 runs together—the highest by any duo in history. They also holds the world record for scoring 8227 runs in 176 One Day Internationals. Nobody other has even reached the 6000-run threshold.

In the 1980s, the two initially connected during a junior camp. Many years later, Tendulkar was the one who requested that Ganguly be made Team India’s vice-captain. In all formats, the left-handed batsman served as captain of the national squad.

Along with Tendulkar, vice-president Rajiv Shukla and BCCI secretary Jay Shah attended the festivities. The Indian legend received a unique cake.

 

Last week’s two-match T20I series was witnessed by Ganguly when he was in Ireland. He went to Edgbaston for the one-off Test match after the T20Is, which was completed on Tuesday (July 5). From July 7 to July 17, Team India will play three T20Is and as many ODIs against England. The Men in Blue will go to the West Indies for 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is following the England series.

MS Dhoni, a different former Indian captain, is also commemorating his birthday in the UK. The Indian great attended Wimbledon 2022 with his buddies after arriving in London last week. He enjoyed playing tennis before celebrating his 41st birthday.

Additionally present during Dhoni’s birthday celebration was Rishabh Pant, who is a member of the team for the current series against England. The first T20I, which is slated for Thursday, will not include the wicketkeeper-batsman (July 7).
