Royal Challengers Bangalore Hall of Fame: RCB induct legends AB de Villiers, Chris Gayle

Legendary West Indies batter Chris Gayle and legendary South African batter AB de Villiers have been inducted into the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Hall of Fame.
Gayle and De Villiers have been two of the best players of all time in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Both the players have had a major impact on the cash-rich league and are loved and respected by the Indian fans.
Chris Gayle joined RCB in 2011 and played for the franchise till 2017. He dominated the league during his stay at the RCB and smashed 3420 runs in 91 games at an average of 43.29 and strike rate of 154.40, including 21 fifties and 5 centuries. Also, he smashed sensational 175* runs while playing for RCB, which is the highest individual score in the history of the tournament.
Meanwhile, AB de Villiers played for Royal Challengers Bangalore from 2011 to 2021 before retiring from all formats of the game. He is the second-highest run-getter for the RCB in the history of the Indian Premier League.
AB de Villiers smashed 4522 runs for RCB in 157 games at an average of 41.10 and strike rate of 158.33, including 2 terrific centuries and 37 fifties.
In a video shared by Royal Challengers Bangalore on their social media handles on Tuesday, May 17, they revealed that Gayle and De Villiers have been inducted into the RCB Hall of Fame.
It was also stated that a special evening was organized by the Royal Challengers Bangalore management for inducting the players into the Hall of Fame. Also, Gayle and De Villiers were inducted into the Hall of Fame by Virat Kohli.
Legendary Proteas batsman De Villiers, who was present at the event using a virtual conference call, said that getting inducted into the Hall of Fame is an emotional moment for him.
Meanwhile, West Indies legend Gayle said that his stay at the RCB has been special for him and he thanked everyone at the RCB and said that the franchise will always remain close to his heart.
