The Federation of International Cricketers’ Associations (FICA) has named former Australia international Lisa Sthalekar as its first female president.

A “new stage of the game”
The 42-year-old Sthalekar stated in a statement, “We are entering a new chapter of the game which encompasses more cricket than ever before for our male and female players.” “More nations are participating in the sport, showing that cricket is unquestionably evolving into a global game.
“I look forward to working on behalf of our member player associations and players, and in particular to working with the ICC to guarantee that all players’ rights are safeguarded and that they may collaborate with officials to improve our game,” said the player association president.
Barry Richards, a legend in South African cricket, is one of the organization’s noteworthy past presidents. FICA was established in 1988.
The Australian Cricketers’ Association board member and independent FICA director responsibilities in the past, according to FICA’s executive chairman Heath Mills, demonstrated Sthalekar’s “long-standing dedication to the players’ association movement and improving player rights.”
Lisa’s credentials as a former player and broadcaster are unmatched, according to Mills, who said that she was the best contender.
