Rohit became the fourth batsman in ODI cricket to attain the milestone of 250 sixes

For India in one-day internationals, Jasprit Bumrah recorded the third-best numbers of 6/19.

The hosts were bowled out for just 110, their lowest total in ODIs against India, with to Jasprit Bumrah’s career-best performance of 6/19 in 7.2 overs, which also featured three maidens. The first of the three games was won at the Kennington Oval in London by the captain Rohit Sharma with his opening partner Dhawan, who had an undefeated century opening stand. India won the match by ten wickets as the former finished unbeaten on 76 off 58 with 7 fours and five maximums. Dhawan scored 31 off 54.

Rohit won the toss and decided to field first in the cloudy circumstances of the opening match. Jos Buttler and his teammates were completely floored by Bumrah’s magnificent display of swing and seam bowling as he then started to put on a show. When facing Bumrah, England just had no answers at all since no batter got the game going. It came out to be only the second occurrence for England in ODIs as the top three batsmen all secured ducks. The team’s captain, Buttler, led the way with a knock of 30 off 32.

In addition, Mohammed Shami collected 3/31 in seven overs, reaching his personal record of 150 wickets in the format. Rohit and Dhawan completed the formalities by completing their 18th-century stand in the 50-over format while chasing only 111. In just 18.4 overs, the two led their team to an easy ten-wicket victory. The Men in Blue achieved their first-ever ten-wicket victory over the English team with this victory.
