For the Virtual segment, each team has been divided into 2 groups.
Group A consists of Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants; Whereas Group B consists of Chennai Super Kings, Sun Risers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans.

Venues
Due to safety protocols and Covid-19 uncertainties, all the matches of IPL 2022 will be held in the state of Maharashtra, India.
The four stadiums to host these matches are Wankhede Stadium – Mumbai, DY Patil Stadium, Brabourne – CC and MCA Stadium, Pune. These are the major venues for every IPL 2022 match. The details pertaining to the playoffs matches will be out soon.
Each team will play 4 matches each in Wankhede as well as DY Patil Stadium, whereas a total of 3 matches each in Barbourne – CC and for MCA stadium
