Indian women’s cricket team to tour Sri Lanka for T20 and ODI series in June

Colombo: In June, the Indian women’s team will play three ODIs and three T20Is in Sri Lanka. The Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) acknowledged this on Thursday. She also stated that the ODIs will be held as part of the newly launched ICC Women’s Championship, which will serve as a qualifier for the 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup.

The SLC Executive Committee approved India’s women’s tour to Sri Lanka, one of seven decisions made while Indian cricketers compete in the present Women’s T20 Challenge in Pune and Sri Lanka hosts three T20s and as many ODIs. is touring Pakistan, all of which will be played in Karachi.

India recently visited the island nation in 2018, winning the ODI and T20I series 2-1 and 4-0, respectively. It will be India’s first bilateral series after failing to reach the semi-finals of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 in New Zealand due to the country’s economic crisis.

Following the Sri Lanka series, India will compete in the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in July-August alongside Australia, Barbados, and Pakistan. From the 10th to the 24th of September, England will play three ODIs and the same number of T20 matches.
