“INDIAN CRICKET IS IN DANGER” – SAURAV GANGULY

The Blaze of #MeToo has left no door in its way, as it has now affected Indian Cricket board, BCCI CEO Rahul johri, who is facing allegations of sexual harassment to which Indian former skipper Saurav Ganguly has expressed a deep sense of worry over the board’s state of affairs.
Ganguly’s words are likely to build pressure on the CoA (Committee of Administrators) to take serious and rapid action over the allegations against the CEO Rahul Johri in a wake of #MeToo movement. Ganguly said urgency is required to rectify the situations; Cricket in India is not just a game but a religion.
Currently, the members of CoA seems to be divided into two parts, on the one hand, Vind rai has instituted an independent committee to probe allegations against Johri, on the other hand, Diana Edulji wants BCCI CEO to be sacked immediately.
Ganguly also revealed his displeasure at the manner by which Indian Cricket coach Ravi Shashtri was appointment and Kohli’s tussle with Anil Kumble.
“I write this mail to you all with the deep sense of fear as to where Indian cricket administration is going. Having played the game for a long period of time, where our lives were ruled by winning and losing, and the image of Indian cricket was of paramount importance to us. We wake up looking at how our cricket is faring even now. But with deep sense of worry, (I used the word worry) I beg to state that the way things have gone in the last couple of years, the authority of Indian cricket to the world and the love and belief of millions of fans is on the way down.” –Sourav Ganguly
“Indian cricket with its massive following has been built over the years of hard work from superb administrators and greatest of cricketers who have managed to bring thousands of fans to the ground. I, at the present moment, think it’s in danger. Hope people are listening.” –Sourav Ganguly
