India announce the squad for Ireland tour, Hardik Pandya is named captain

The national selectors announced a 17-man squad for the two-match T20 international series against Ireland on Wednesday.
As previously reported, Hardik Pandya has been selected as captain of the team, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar named as his vice.
Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer, on the other hand, have been left out of the squad. They’ll be in the Test squad, and both are anticipated to participate in the practise match, which will take place on the same dates as the T20Is against Ireland.
Suryakumar Yadav and Sanju Samson are back in the game.
Suryakumar Yadav has returned to the squad after missing the match against South Africa due to injury. Sanju Samson is also back in the squad after being left out of the South African series.
After a fantastic IPL season with Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rahul Tripathi has finally received his first India call-up. There was a lot of reaction after he was passed over for the five-match T20 series against South Africa.
Arshdeep Singh and Umran Malik have kept their places, but Kuldeep Yadav has been left out. He could still be healing from an injury incurred during net practise before the first T20I against South Africa.
Venkatesh Iyer and Deepak Hooda have both been retained in the squad.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been selected vice-captain for the second time, having previously served in that capacity during the series against Sri Lanka last year, when Shikhar Dhawan was the captain.
Ireland had confirmed their squad for the series against India earlier in the day.
Hardik Pandya (captain), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (vice-captain), Dinesh Karthik (wicketkeeper), Ishan Kishan, Axar Patel, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rahul Tripathi, Sanju Samson, Suryakumar Yadav, Venkatesh Iyer, Deepak Hooda, Yuzvendra Chahal, R Bishnoi, Harshal Patel, Umraan Malik, Arshdeep Singh
