Whoever Wants to Join BJP is Free to Go, We Won’t Stop Anyone: MP Congress Chief Kamal Nath

Just because someone decides to leave the Congress party, do you think the party would come to an end just because they’re gone?

Madhya Pradesh Congress Chief Kamal Nath addressed a press conference on Monday in Bhopal. Responding to the increasing high-profile exits from the party, the Congress Chief bluntly stated during the press conference that whoever wants to quit the Congress party and wants to join the Bhartiya Janta party (BJP) is free to do so and won’t be stopped by anyone in his party.

Recently, eight out of eleven Congress MLAs in Goa decided to exit the Congress party and join the Bhartiya Janta party (BJP).

Speaking to the reporters, Kamal Nath said “Whoever wants to join BJP can go. We don’t want to stop anyone. If they (Congress leaders) want to go and see their future with BJP, I would lend them my motor (car) to go and join BJP. Congress would not stop anyone from quitting.

The former Chief Minister also went ahead and asked the media “Just because someone decides to leave the Congress party, do you think the party would come to an end just because they’re gone?

Shutting down the rumours about the former Congress MLAs being pressurized by The BJP to leave the party, Nath responded “At the end, people always do things that they really want to do. They do things out of their own intent. No one really does anything out of pressure.

The veteran Congress leader, answering the trail of questions asked by the media in Bhopal about the Congress leaders from Madhya Pradesh who have decided to ditch the Congress party and join the BJP, mentioned firmly that he is not someone who believes in buttering anyone.

If the Congress leaders see a better future and their thoughts gel with the BJP, they can go. I won’t stop them. I would even lend them my car to go and join the BJP,” the Congress leader said mockingly.

Recent times have been quite daunting for the Congress party as many of its leading high-profile leaders have decided to call off their years-long union with the Congress party.

Ghulam Nabi’s exit gave a major jolt to Congress as he was one of the most senior veterans of the political party. The other high-profile exits from the Congress party include, Amarinder Singh, Sunil Jhakhar and Jaiveer Shergill.
