West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee Claimed Her Current Target is to Generate Higher Employment in West Bengal

The Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, claimed that her aim is to make the state number one in creation of jobs and employment opportunities in the next four to five years, while speaking at an event in Kharagpur.

Mamata Banerjee further proclaimed that the state has been adjudged number one in skill development due to the ‘Utkarsh Bangla’ skill development programme. The CM also gave suggestions for a grievance cell for the ones who are not able to get a job even after getting their certificates of course completion.

While addressing the crowd in Kharagpur, Mamata Banerjee took a brutal dig at The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP). She highlighted that although the overall employment in India has decreased by 45 per cent, the employment figure for West Bengal has substantially increased by 40 per cent.

The Chief Minister assured the crowd that the employment opportunities would witness an additional increase as the TMC government of West Bengal is planning to appoint 89,000 more teachers.

The leading lady of the TMC government informed the crowd about the upcoming projects in West Bengal that are anticipated to create a pool of employment opportunities in the state. She informed that Tata Metalics has plans to invest a whopping Rs 600 crore in the Kharagpur industrial park, which would create a job vacancy for as many as 800 people. In addition to this, the TMC government is also developing a mining project in Deocha Pachami in the Birbhum district. It would create over one lakh new employment opportunities in the state.

While recounting more state government projects, The Chief Minister took another dig at The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP). She alleged that the centre is blocking funds for the ‘Bangal Bari’ project which will be dedicated towards providing a roof to the economically weaker sections of society.

In her closing statement of the event, the leader of the TMC government proclaimed that the current focus of her government is to ‘match-make’ the job seekers and industries that are looking for employees on a large scale. “Employment generation is my target at the moment. My aim is to make Bengal number one in job creation in the next four to five years,” she said.
