The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) mountaineer squad set a new record for performing Yoga at high altitudes.
The team of mountaineers demonstrated Yoga at the height of 22,850 feet in snow conditions ahead of International Yoga Day, according to a video released by the ITBP Twitter feed. ACCORDING TO ANI, the ITBP squad had previously reached Mount Abi Gamin’s 24,131-foot peak, singing ‘Badri Vishal Ki Jai’ slogans.
More than 230 mountaineering expeditions have been successfully completed by the ITBP.
The Zaskar Range’s highest point, Abi Gamin, is located in the middle Himalayas. It is located between the famed Mana and Niti passes on the Indo-Tibetan border, on the watershed of the upper Alaknanda and Dhauli rivers.
After Kamet, Abi Gamin is the second highest peak in the local area. It is also one of Uttarakhand’s fifteen seven thousand metre peaks, making it a prominent ridge.
The Force, which was founded in 1962, began scaling Himalayan summits in the late 1960s. It climbed many previously unclimbed Himalayan mountains. At times, its fearsome mountaineering teams ascended nine peaks in a single calendar year.
Every year on June 21, International Yoga Day is celebrated to raise awareness about the advantages of Yoga around the world. On December 11, 2014, the United Nations declared June 21 the International Day of Yoga. India proposed establishing the International Day of Yoga, which was accepted by 175 member states.
