RSS Mission Is To Make India Attain All-Round Development: Mohan Bhagwat

RSS sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat has said that Sangh’s mission is to make India attain all-around development.

On Sunday, lecturing at a public meeting here on the first day of his two-day visit to the hill state, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief said that the Sangh’s mission is to make the society organized so that India attains all-round development. RSS teaches sacrifice for the country by giving up individual selfish ends. Further, innate faith in age-old values based on spirituality is the binding force among the people of the country. Also, Indian and Hindus is a similar geo-cultural identity.

He further told Indians learned the belief of sacrifice from the country’s ancient history. Notably, our ancestors had attended various foreign lands and imparted the same values to Japan, Korea, Indonesia, and many other countries. Bhagwat also said that India had performed humanity by sending vaccines to various countries during the COVID-19 pandemic and stood beside Sri Lanka during her economic crisis.

Meanwhile, in his two-day visit to the northeastern state, Bhagwat will meet various RSS functionaries and governors of social organizations.

However, on Tuesday, the Voice of the People Party (VPP) asserted that there is more to the recent statement by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat where is said that all people living in India are Hindus.

In a statement, the VPP said, “One should be able to read between the lines, what this statement means? If one tries to properly analyze the statement, one would conclude that his statement is directed at Christianity.”

The statement added, “Firstly, he wants to say that the indigenous tribals of the State were originally Hindus, but were converted to Christianity. Secondly, he is also trying to create a division among the indigenous people through his statement. Thirdly, he also tries to convince the indigenous people of the state, that their traditional faith is no different from the Hindu religion.”

However, the VPP further added that Bhagwat’s statement cannot be taken lightly. Notably, the VPP said it must be known that even before the beginning of Christianity, the indigenous people practiced their traditional faith which is very distinct from the Hindu religion.

President of VPP, Ardent M Basaiawmoit said, “As Christian myself, I never claimed that Meghalaya is a Christian State, because faith or religion is personal, and had nothing to do with the State or a community.”
