PM Narendra Modi suggests, to implement “One Police, One Uniform” policy in the country. Here’s why

The idea of “One Nation, One Uniform” for police was floated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday. He emphasised that he was only making a suggestion and not trying to persuade the governments to follow it. The prime minister remarked, “One Nation, One Uniform” for police may occur, may not occur today, may take 5, 50, or 100 years, but let’s give it some thought.” Honourable Prime Minister, Narendra Modi spoke in a virtual meeting with state home minister Chintan Shivir.

According to PM Modi, all of the nation’s police officers might have the same appearance. The prime minister was also in favour of close governmental cooperation in the fight against crime and criminals. He argued that cooperative federalism was not just required by the federal government and the states individually, but also by the Constitution’s spirit. The PM pushed for concerted action by all the agencies to address the new issues of law and order and security, urging state governments to evaluate outdated legislation and update them to the present environment.

Maintaining public trust in the police, according to Modi, is “extremely vital,” and the “wrongs here” need to be corrected. In order to assure effectiveness, better results, and protection for the average person, he claimed that intelligence and police organisations should work together.

The two-day Chintan Shivir, according to a release from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), is an effort to give a national perspective to policy creation on issues relating to internal security. At the occasion were the chief ministers of eight states, as well as the home ministers and deputy chief ministers of sixteen states. Amit Shah, the union home minister, is presiding over the Chintan Shivir.

The Center took this action to lessen the crisscross movement of fertilisers (urea, di-ammonium phosphate, and potash have fixed nutrient contents as stipulated underneath the fertiliser control order and which do not alter with brands), which will ultimately help lower freight subsidy costs and improve accessibility.
