NHAI enters Guinness Books of World Record for laying this 75km long highway in just 5 Days!

National Highways Authority of India – NHAI and its contractors entered Guinness World Records for laying 75 Km long continuous Bituminous Concrete Road in record 5 days.

Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari congratulated the team of NHAI, contractors, engineers and labourers who put in efforts for asphalting work which started from 3rd of this Month.

The work was carried out in a single lane on NH-53 section between Amravati and Akola in West Vidarbha. This Project was carried under ongoing Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Initiative by NHAI.

The construction of the Amravati-Akola highway began at 6 am on June 3 and the NHAI is aiming to complete the project by June 7 to set a world record for the fastest construction of the longest bituminous concrete road.

As many as 800 employees and 700 workers, including highway engineers, safety engineers, and surveyors, are involved to get the job done in the record time.
