In March, India’s Inflation surged to 6.95 percent, a 17-month high for the third consecutive month.The previous high rate of inflation at 7.61 percent was recorded in October 2020.

Reports claim lemon prices have also skyrocketed. In the National Capital prices of lemon are reportedly between Rs 300 to Rs 350 per kg, whereas the wholesale price for the same in Gujarat is at around Rs 300 per kg. Making it pocket heavy in the scorching summer heat.
According to reports, the soaring heat has damaged crops of lemon producing states like Gujarat, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, resulting in record high prices of the essential commodity.
