Kolkata reported the country’s first case of monkey pox, Student hospitalised

A student who was hospitalised to a private hospital in Kolkata might have monkey pox, according to doctors. He recently got back from a trip to Europe. A hospital in Kolkata accepted the young man from West Midnapore who also had other symptoms and a “rash” on his body.

As it was thought to be monkey pox, the sample was submitted to the National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Pune for testing. The test report is still pending. The sufferer is kept apart from others. The West Bengal health agency will also notify the residents of his home.
