Kashmiri TV actor Amreen Bhat killed by three LeT terrorists in J&K’s Budgam; 10-year-old nephew injured

On Wednesday evening, militants assassinated a Kashmiri television star in the Hishroo district of Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam. Three terrorists shot and killed Amreen Bhat, 35, outside her home about 7.55 p.m. Farhan Zubai, her 10-year-old nephew, was shot in the arm by a bullet.

The police further added that three terrorists of the proscribed terror outfit Lashkar e Taiba (LeT) were involved in the terror incident. “Area has been cordoned off and search started. Case registered and investigation on,” police further said. Amreen Bhat would also upload videos on the social media platform Tik Tok. Omar Abdullah, the leader of the National Conference and a former chief minister of J&K, condemned the incident on Twitter.

“No words are strong enough to condemn heinous terror attack in Budgam. Deepest condolences to family of Amreen Bhat & prayers for fast recovery of her injured nephew. We’re firmly resolved to demolish terror ecosystem that continues to receive reinforcement from across the border,” said J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. The news comes just days after a police constable in Srinagar’s Anchar neighbourhood was killed by militants. In the attack, his 7-year-old daughter was also hurt.
