Drones are prohibited from flying near the Noida Twin Towers during the Sunday demolition

Noida Twin Towers Demolition: At 2.30 pm on Sunday, the towers in Noida’s Sector 93A, which are about 100 metres tall and taller than Delhi’s famous Qutub Minar, will be levelled.

Noida: When Supertech’s unlawful twin buildings are dismantled on August 28, drones won’t be permitted to fly in the “exclusion zone” of those structures, officials announced on Wednesday.
Drones would only be permitted beyond the exclusion zone with the police’s approval, they stressed.

The approximately 100-meter-tall structures in Noida’s Sector 93A will be demolished at 2.30 p.m. on Sunday, making them taller than Delhi’s famous Qutub Minar.

All inhabitants of the two nearby communities of Emerald Court and ATS Village would be required to leave, but a designated exclusion zone has been set up around the twin towers where no people, vehicles, or animals would be allowed while they were being demolished, according to the officials.

“An area of 450 metres in front of the twin towers, which overlook a road and a city park, will be included in the exclusion zone. Ram Badan Singh, the deputy commissioner of police in charge of the headquarters in Gautam Buddh Nagar, told PTI that the exclusion zone would extend up to 250 metres on either side of the towers.

“Drones won’t be allowed to fly in the exclusion zone. However, drones might be operated outside the restriction zone with advance approval from the local police, according to Singh.

The Noida-Greater Noida Expressway is part of the exclusion zone, and vehicular traffic there will be stopped on August 28 from 2.15 to 2.45.

Officials claim that the safety precautions are being taken because the twin towers’ skeletal structures have been loaded with about 3,700 kg of explosives to cause their implosion.

A massive 35,000 cubic metres of debris would be produced by the destruction of the Apex and Ceyane towers, most of which would be stored in the basements of the buildings while the remainder would be transported to a remote area of Noida and subjected to scientific processing, they claimed.

Supertech’s twin skyscrapers in Noida’s Sector 93A are being demolished as a result of a Supreme Court decision declaring them to be unconstitutional and built against regulations.
