“BJP is Trying to Gain Power in the State Unethically by Using an Atmosphere of Confusion.” Says Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren. Demands Copy of EC Opinion
According to the sources, Jharkhand’s Chief Minister is afraid of not merely losing his membership but also the fact that the Election Commission might eventually bar him from contesting elections for at least six years.

According to the media reports, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren met the Governor Ramesh Bais on Thursday and requested him to make an early decision on the Election Commission’s recommendation in connection to the office for profit case against him.
In his meeting with the honourable governor, Soren alleged that the political scenario in the state had been confusing and misleading. He further requested the governor to make an early decision and clear the confusion around the Election commission’s recommendation, as it would clear the air.
The Chief minister of Jharkhand who is currently on the verge of being disqualified as an MLA further alleged that the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) is trying to gain power in his state of Jharkhand, making unethical use of the confusing atmosphere.
The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) had already filed a petition against the chief minister of Jharkhand under Section 9(A) of the Representation of People’s Act., seeking his disqualification from the assembly. On August 25, the Election Commission sent the decision to Bais.
According to the sources, Jharkhand’s chief minister is afraid of not merely losing his membership, but he is also afraid that the Election Commission might eventually bar him from contesting elections for at least six years. CM Hemant Soren has held meetings with all his allies and JMM MLA’s bracing for all the possibilities.
Putting out a word in his defence, CM Hemant Soren asserted that he got the mining lease back in 2008, when he was not the CM of Jharkhand, so technically, the mining lease does not come under the purview of the office for profit rules. Soren further argued that he had applied for the cancellation of the mining lease the same month in which it was issued to him.
According to the reports, CM Hemant Soren also wrote a letter to the governor Bais. A part of the letter says, “Due to the spread of news by the BJP and selected leak from Your Excellency’s office, a confusing and misleading situation has been created in the state government and among the public, which is not good for people and the state.”
