CROWNED WITH BEAUTY……BUT SINNED BY THE GREEDY…….BLESSED AS THE SCARIEST…….WALK TO THE ABBOTT MOUNT

If you are inclined to spooky, mysterious and errie places, this place calls for you.

On the 42nd day of my cycle trip of Garhwal, I entered the Kumaon division and reached Pithoragarh. Darkness of shadows slowly crept down by the time I reached Marodhkhan. While seeking shelter, I was told stories about a place called Mukti Kothri where a doctor used to liberate the deads. Ignition of curiosity and interest for any being is normal, then who was a stroller like me in its clasp?

THE MELANCHOLIC TALE OF CHILLS

Around 1915, Dr. Morrison was a well-known doctor known to treat people and check their pulse to forsee their future. It is believed that if he predicted death, then the patient would die within the next 2 days. After his prediction, people would leave the patients in Mukti Ghar or Mukti Kothari, located adjacent to the hospital. Most patients eventually died there, though it’s not known if Dr. Morrison used to kill patients or they died there naturally. But those who survived were left with nobody to take them home. In such a situation, Dr. Morrison started experimenting the livings who conquered the death. It is believed that Dr. Morrison would open the brain of those living humans and try to find out the difference between the living and the dead. In this way, he kept the living people in a transcended state by giving them injections.
As a result of the torture that those survivors received, their souls are believed to roam here since then. Consequently, it became one of the most haunted place.

ADVENTURING THE AMALGAMATION

The lane to the mount goes through a dense forest which makes the journey fearsome. With the progression, the fear grows deeper. But once you’ll reach it, you’ll realize its significance as a tourist destination with all these people present in flocks there. It’ll please your eyes to look at the green summit in all its beauty. Here, nature spread its wings in all its magnificence above the clouds. Everything around that place will make you wonder if it’s really one of the world’s most haunted place. Descending from the slopes, there’s a church standing there in a dilapidated state, built by an Englishman in the memory of his wife in 1942. The tombs of it will remind you that it’s the same graveyard you’ve heard all those stories about.
You’ll also find people there who never returned back after the mount charmed them with its beauty. Here, the nature will quench your fears in seconds, and you’ll forget that you’re standing atop one of the most haunted places.
