‘You’re Not Welcome’, Protest Against Priyanka Chopra After She Visits Lucknow For UNICEF Work

Priyanka Chopra has returned to India from the US after three years to promote her hair care brand Anomaly. She also took some time out to visit Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow in order to see the progress of UNICEF work being done to end violence and discrimination against girls in the state. However, she didn’t get a warm welcome from everyone.

Protest against Priyanka Chopra in Lucknow

‘You’re Not Welcome’, say the posters in protest against Priyanka Chopra.

Posters were put up in the city that read, “You’re not welcome in the city of Nawabs”. For the unversed, Priyanka Chopra is the Goodwill Ambassador of UNICEF and she was fulfilling her duties. The reason for the protest remains unclear. The Police are investigating the matter.

However, as per India Today, the protesters were against her show called Quantico which allegedly portrays members of Hindu community as terrorists and thus tarnishes the image of India.

Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra shared a video from her visit in which she says, “Right now, I am in Lucknow, India with UNICEF. I am really looking forward to this field visit. I have spent a few of my childhood years at school in Lucknow, I have family and friends here.”
