Tamil filmmaker Mani Nagaraj passes away due to cardiac arrest

Tamil director Mani Nagaraj breathed his last today morning after suffering cardiac arrest.

Mani Nagaraj, a Tamil director, died this morning (August 25) after suffering a cardiac arrest. More information about his final rites and funeral are awaited. Mani Nagaraj was looking forward to the release of his new film, Vasuvin Garbinigal. The film is the official Tamil remake of the Malayalam film Zachariayude Garbhinikal, produced by Xavier Britto.

MANI NAGARAJ PASSES AWAY DUE TO CARDIAC ARREST

Mani Nagaraj died this morning as a result of cardiac arrest. He previously worked as Gautham Vasudev Menon’s assistant director. In 2016, he made his directorial debut with the GV Prakash-starrer Pencil. Vasuvin Garbinigal, his upcoming film, stars Neeya Naana Gopinath, Seetha, Vanitha Vijayakumar, and Anikha Surendran in lead roles. The director was hard at work on this film, which is set to be released soon.

Editor TS Suresh took to Twitter to offer his condolences to Mani Nagaraj’s family members. He wrote, “Shocked & saddened to know about the passing away of film-director Mani Nagaraj, former associate of Gautham Vasudev Menon. He’s the one who taught me the basics of post-production. A good friend & a great teacher gone too soon. Rest in Peace, Mani Ji. You will be missed (sic).”
