K-pop is a genre of music that has its roots in South Korea and first gained popularity in the 2000s. It now has a growing global fan base. Additionally, their flamboyant display of high-end fashion draws in a growing number of fans in addition to their catchy songs.

Here is a look at a few K-pop performers who are also having a big impact on the fashion world.

G-Dragon

G-Dragon, the lead singer of the boy band BIG BANG, was the first K-pop performer to receive an invitation to Paris Fashion Week. When Nike introduced the Air Force 1 Para-Noise, a black shoe with an embroidered daisy on the tongue, he became the first Korean musician to work with the brand. The following year, a white Para-Noise was released.

Lisa from BLACKPINK

With 47.6 million followers on Instagram, Lisa of the band Blackpink is the most popular K-pop performer. Her fans adore her posts on fashion, beauty, and brands just as much as they do her live performances. She has been a global ambassador for Celine since 2020 and was the first Asian performer and K-pop star to front the Celine Essentials campaign. She also became MAC Cosmetics’ first global brand ambassador and the first K-pop star to do so.

Kai from EXO

Kai, the lead vocalist of the boy band Exo, is a Gucci ambassador and the brand’s first choice of a Korean male celebrity to serve as the global icon for Gucci Eyewear. Kai, came in at number seven on the list of GQ UK’s 50 Best Dressed Men of 2020, was the only K-pop star included.

Following the release of the GOT7 rapper’s single Fendiman in 2018, luxury clothing brand Fendi appointed him as its ambassador, praising his talent, originality, and avant-garde style as being “perfectly connected to Fendi’s spirit.” Wang then quickly unveiled a Fendi capsule line. He represented Cartier and Armani in 2020 thanks to his success on the stage and in the fashion industry.
