In an episode of ‘Koffee With Karan’ Season 7, Bollywood actresses Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor discussed their near-death travel misadventures.
Janhvi and Sara’s trip to Kedarnath, where they were bonding over the scenic beauty, hit a snag when they encountered two near-death experiences. When Janhvi chose a hike at Bhairavnath over walking a normal path, the adventure took an unexpected turn.
Sara said: “We decided to go to Bhairavnath and there was a normal path for walking. But we thought ourselves to be better. We chose to hike instead. There was an 85 incline of just rocks and Janhvi is like let us just climb this.”
Sara expressed her fear of being called a “buzzkill” despite her scepticism about climbing the incline.
Sara mentioned how, at one point, she was convinced they would fall off due to shaky rocks, admitting fear of kicking in.
With no way out in sight, they found solace when they noticed a fan approaching them as they hung off the cliff.
He was useless to them, as he only wanted to take a selfie with them. Sara’s driver eventually found them after nearly 30 minutes of being stuck, and they were rescued with the assistance of special forces.
To make matters worse, the weather turned against them.
Janhvi recalled Sara’s decision to stay in a low-cost no-heater hotel in order to save Rs 6000, and how this decision nearly froze them.
She said, “I had travelled to Kedarnath with two thermals, one puffer jacket, three shawls, two track pants, and two sweaters. Karan, I wore every single piece of clothing I had owned and was still shivering.”
Sara’s lips had turned blue and she was shivering by the time she returned to their room after meeting her friends!
She went on to say that, aside from the lack of a heater in the freezing minus 7 degrees Celsius weather, the hotel’s bathroom was also questionable. “If I had sat on that pot, it would have shattered,” Janhvi explained, adding to her tale of a bad hotel stay.
