Raju Srivastava In Critical Condition After Suffering Heart Attack; Kept On Ventilator: Reports

Raju Srivastava’s cousin Ashok Srivastava had on Wednesday evening said the comedian suffered a heart attack while exercising.

According to hospital sources, comedian-actor Raju Srivastava is “critical and on ventilator” in AIIMS Delhi’s intensive care unit (ICU).
The 58-year-old stand-up comedian was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday after suffering a heart attack. He underwent angioplasty.

“He is critical and on a ventilator in the intensive care unit,” a hospital source told the Press Trust of India.

Ashok Srivastava, Raju Srivastava’s cousin, stated on Wednesday evening that the comedian suffered a heart attack while exercising.

“He was doing his routine exercise and while he was on the treadmill, he suddenly fell down. He suffered a heart attack and was immediately taken to AIIMS hospital,” he had told Press Trust of India, adding that the actor-comedian’s wife Shikha Srivastava had reached Delhi.

Raju Srivastava, who has worked in the entertainment industry since the late 1980s, rose to prominence in 2005 after appearing on the first season of the stand-up comedy show “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge.”

He has appeared in several Hindi films, including “Maine Pyar Kiya,” “Baazigar,” “Bombay to Goa” (remake), and “Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiya.” He was a contestant on season three of “Bigg Boss.”

Mr Srivastava is the current chairman of the Film Development Council Uttar Pradesh.
