OMG! DCW Chief has Demanded to Remove Filmmaker Sajid Khan from Big Boss Season 16

Sajid’s surprise entry into the big boss house as a contestant has been highly controversial since the beginning.

The biggest controversial show on television in India took another unprecedented turn as Delhi Commission for Women Chief and women activist, Swati Maliwal demanded Sajid Khan’s eviction from the big boss house. On Monday, Swati Maliwal wrote an official letter to the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur, demanding the removal of Sajid Khan from the ongoing Season 16 of Big Boss.

Sajid’s surprise entry into the big boss house as a contestant has been highly controversial since the beginning. The internet was divided by his participation in the show; a majority of netizens criticized the makers and the host of the show, Salman Khan, for selecting Sajid Khan as the show’s contestant. Sajid Khan was accused of sexual misconduct by over ten Bollywood actresses in 2018 as a part of the ‘MeToo movement’, wherein all the women of the industry came under the same umbrella of courage and spoke about all the special atrocities that they went through during their career in the Bollywood industry.

Many Bollywood actresses, including Saloni Chopra, Manadana Karimi and Sherlyn Chopra accused the filmmaker of sexual misconduct. In a chain of events, the filmmaker was boycotted from the Bollywood industry and was banned by The Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA) from directing any films.

Reacting to Sajid Khan’s participation in Big Boss season 16, DCW Chief, Swati Maliwal took to her official Twitter account and posted a tweet that read “Ten women have accused Sajid Khan of sexual harassment during the #MeToo movement. All these complaints show the disgusting mentality of Sajid Khan. Now, this man has been given a place in Bigg Boss, which is wrong. I have written to @ianuragthakur to have Sajid Khan removed from this show.”

According to the sources, Swati Maliwal also mentioned that the charges pressed against Sajid Khan are quite serious and shouldn’t be overlooked. The DCW Chief, further mentioned that the national OTT platforms like Big Boss should not promote such sexual offenders because it widely disrespects and invalidates the women who have struggled against the atrocities that were inflicted upon them, a couple of years back.

Sajid Khan is currently inside the Big Boss house and there hasn’t been any official announcement about his eviction from the show as a repercussion. Many celebrities, including Mandana Karimi, Sherlyn Chopra and Urfi Javed have slammed the makers for giving the filmmaker a chance to ‘clean’ his image. Irrespective of what’s happening in the outside world, Sajid Khan is coming out as a really strong contestant inside the Big Boss house.
