Falguni Pathak Fumes In Anger After The “Maine Payal Hai” Remake By Neha Kakkar, Says, “I Wish I Could Prosecute.”

Playback singer, Neha Kakkar, lands into another controversy for her latest song ‘O Sajna’ which premiered on YouTube earlier this week on September 19. The song features Yuzvendra Chahal’s wife and an iconic dancer, Dhanashree Verma and TV actor Priyank Sharma.
Since the song released, listeners on all platforms have been criticising Neha Kakkar for ruining the ‘feel’ of the original song. Neha Kakkar’s ‘O Sajna’ is a remix version of Falguni Pathak’s iconic number ‘Maine Payal Hai Chhankai’ from the classical era of the 90s.
The Dandiya Queen, Falguni Pathak has finally opened up on the controversy. The singer has shared her shocking first reaction to Neha Kakkar’s latest song ‘O Sajna’. In a shocking revelation, Falguni said that she was about to puke when she first heard the ‘O Sajna’ track by Neha Kakkar. The 53-year-old singer also mentioned that Neha Kakkar’s remix version has annihilated the innocence, feelings and essence of her original track ‘Maine Payal Hai’.
Furthermore, in one of her recent interviews, when Falguni Pathak was asked about how Neha Kakkar’s version has actually destroyed the ‘innocence’ of the original iconic number, she replied, “Neha Kakkar has made the song sound cheap.”
The singer further mentioned, that if Neha Kakkar wanted to reach out to the you get generation, she must have done it in a decent way. The singer firmly stated that Kakkar could have changed the rhythm of the song to make it sound appealing to the younger generation instead of making it cheap, altogether.
The original track “Maine Payal Hai Chhankai” was composed and written by Lalit Sen in the 90s; the Bengali version of the song was composed by Tanishk Bagchi.
In one of her recent interviews, Falguni Pathak, the singer of the original track “Maine Payal hai Chhankai” which was released in the year 1999, revealed that neither Neha Kakkar nor the makers of the song ‘O Sajna’ took permission from Pathak before releasing the recreated version of her original track.
When asked about her further course of action against the makers of ‘O Sajna’, the Gujrati singer firmly mentioned that she would definitely have taken legal action against Neha Kakkar and the makers of ‘O Sajna’ if she had the rights to do so. “I wish I could, but the rights are not with me.” Falguni Pathak said.
As Neha Kakkar’s latest release ‘O Sajna’ ignited a war of words. The song has also left the netizens divided. Neha Kakkar has been receiving flack on social media since the release of her single ‘O Sajna’ on September 19.
A user posted a tweet slamming Neha Kakkar for ruining a classic melody. The tweet read “As always Neha Kakkar has ruined our childhood memory.” Another user took a dig at the makers of ‘O Sajna’ for ruining the classical original. The tweet read “What a disgrace! This was such a beautiful and soothing song by Falguni Pathak, why you guys ruined this song??????”
