Exclusive Report : Bollywood Actress, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Exposed the ‘Crab Mentality’ of Bollywood
Aishwarya Rai, has recently exposed the shocking ‘crab mentality’ of the Bollywood industry.

Indian actress and the winner of Miss World 1994 pageant, Aishwarya Rai, has recently exposed the darker side of Bollywood and has brought the ‘crab mentality’ of the Bollywood industry under the limelight in Simi Garewal’s chat show.
Aishwarya Rai has played some iconic roles in timeless classic Bollywood movies, including Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Humara Dil Aapke Pass Hai, which proved to be a turning point for the actress. Rai has also appeared in other blockbuster movies, including Mohabbatein, Albela and Devdas.
Rai is one of the celebrities in Bollywood who likes to keep their personal space well-guarded. Although the actress has attended endless media conferences and events, she has always maintained a boundary between her personal and professional life. Although the Mohobbatein actress has had many controversies in the past, she has never been too vocal about her personal space in front of the media.
But in one of her recent interviews, the Miss World 1994 pageant winner, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan touched upon the ugly sides of showbiz. She confessed that most of the people in the Bollywood industry have a ‘crab mentality’. The veteran actress revealed how most of the people in the Bollywood industry would not want their fellow actors to succeed.
“I don’t know if it holds true only for the Bollywood industry, but it is just a general statement…when I say, the crab mentality. Just like all the crabs in the basket, and there’s one out there trying to jump out, taking all the trouble, fighting off all the odds and trying to make the effort….instead of encouraging, the other crabs pull him down and say no! you’re not going anywhere…stay with us. In my eyes, that is a sad attitude to have,” the actress said.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan also spoke about what made her make the switch from modelling to acting. When asked about what made her a part of Bollywood ‘gambling’, the actress responded “Well, the pros, in the end, were that I was not really gambling because, by god’s grace, I was invited to join the industry even before. To me at that moment, it seemed like a very secure decision, so the pros were plenty. The cons were definitely doing something that no one in my family had done. I would be setting a precedent, I would be setting a kind of example which I have to be answerable to.”
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is currently gearing up for her upcoming project, Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan. The movie is scheduled to hit the big screen on September 30. Rai’s fans are waiting for her to make a much anticipated comeback on the big screen after years. The movie, Ponniyin Selvan, will release in various languages including Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
