Delhi Crime season 2 trailer: DCP Vartika Chaturvedi aka Shefali Shah back to nab serial-killer gang

DCP Vartika Chaturvedi aka Shefali Shah is now searching for a serial killer even as she struggles with less police staff and increasing crime. Shah said Delhi Crime season 2’s sophomore chapter will explore the “human and vulnerable side” of its characters.

The trailer for Season 2 of Delhi Crime is now available: Season two of Shefali Shah’s critically acclaimed series, which gave her the’super special’ character of DCP Vartika Chaturvedi, is now available. The official trailer for the Netflix thriller, which stars DCP Vartika Chaturvedi (Shah) and her team of newly promoted Neeti Singh (Rasika Duggal) and Vartika’s right-hand man Bhupendra Singh aka Bhupi, was released on Monday (Rajesh Tailang).

The Delhi Police is now searching for a serial killer even as they struggle with less police staff and increasing crime.

Shah said Delhi Crime season 2’s sophomore chapter will explore the “human and vulnerable side” of its characters.

“I love every character I’ve played but DCP Vartika Chaturvedi will always be super special. And I’m so proud of the role and ‘Delhi Crime’ as a show. It’s my favorite. And so is she. As an actor, it’s fulfilling to portray roles like these. This season, the audience will see a human and vulnerable side of these seasoned police officers. I can proudly say this, ‘Delhi Crime’ is a reflection of our passion for storytelling and the craft and we can’t wait for the audience to watch it,” the 49-year-old actress said.

The second season, which will debut on Netflix on August 26, follows a series of ghastly murders in Delhi that keeps Chaturvedi and her team on their toes.

“With escalating public fear and the media demanding answers, Madam Sir is forced to make some tough choices. Will the Delhi Police force manage to track down these ruthless criminals in time?” the official plotline for season two read.

The upcoming season, like the first, is inspired by true events, as was the first season, which won best drama series at the 48th International Emmy Awards in 2020.

Season two will be directed by Richie Mehta, who also directed the first season. The second season is written by Mayank Tewari, Shubhra Swarup, and Ensia Mirza and directed by Tanuj Chopra.

The cast also includes Adil Hussain, Anurag Arora, Yashaswini Dayama, Sidharth Bhardwaj, Gopal Dutt, Denzil Smith, Tillotama Shome, Jatin Goswami, Vyom Yadav, and Ankit Sharma. The dialogues were written by Virat Basoya and Samyuktha Chawla Shaikh. Producers include SK Global Entertainment, Golden Karavan, and Film Karavan.
