Vidya Balan on Ranveer Singh’s nude photoshoot: ‘Hum ko bhi aankhein sekhne dijiye’
Vidya Balan is the latest celebrity to come to Ranveer Singh’s defence following his nude photoshoot for a magazine. When asked about her reaction to Ranveer’s recent photos from his much-discussed photoshoot, the actor had a hilarious reaction. She said, “Let the women enjoy the sight of a Bollywood actor posing naked for the first time.”
On Thursday, Vidya was spotted at the Fatka Marathi Cine Awards and was asked about her reaction to Ranveer’s pictures. “Arre kya problem hai?” she asked. What’s the problem? Pahli baar koi aadmi aisa kar raha hai, hum logo ko bhi aankhein sekhne dijiye na Let us rejoice that a man is doing it for the first time).”
When asked about the FIRs filed against Ranveer, Vidya stated that anyone who is offended by the photos should not look at them. “Perhaps they (the people who filed the FIR) don’t have much work, so they’re wasting their time on these things. If you don’t like it, you can close the paper or throw it away. Why get into an FIR?”
Ranveer Singh’s naked photoshoot for Paper magazine is still making headlines. The actor is facing charges in Mumbai after an NGO filed a complaint alleging that he ‘hurt the sentiments of women in general and insulted their modesty through his photographs.’
Several of Ranveer’s industry colleagues, including filmmaker Vijay Agnihotri, Swara Bhasker, Alia Bhatt, Arjun Kapoor, Pooja Bedi, and Ram Gopal Varma, have publicly supported him. Yashraj Mukhate, a music producer, has even created a hilarious song about the entire issue being debated on TV news.
A social activist filed a complaint against Ranveer in a local court in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur on Thursday.
