Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann ties knot with Dr Gurpreet Kaur- From Arvind Kejriwal to Manish Sisodia, top AAP leaders pour wishes

On Thursday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, and other top AAP leaders congratulated Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on his marriage to Dr Gurpreet Kaur (July 7). Mann and Kaur married in Chandigarh in a private ceremony without the usual ‘band, bajaa, baraat.’ Pictures on social media showed the Punjab Chief minister and his bride at the Anand Karaj ceremony.

Taking to Twitter, AAP convenor and Delhi CM wrote in a tweet in Hindi, “Wishing Bhagwant Mann and Gurpreet Bhabhi a very happy marriage. May God keep you both happy and give you all the happiness in the world,” Kejriwal said.

 

Earlier, when speaking to reporters, the Delhi CM said of his Punjab counterpart, “He is starting a new adventure today. I wish him the best of luck in his marriage.”

Manish Sisodia, a senior AAP leader, tweeted, “Best wishes for the start of their married life to Punjab Chief Minister and dear brother @BhagwantMann ji and Dr. Gurpreet Kaur ji. May God bless you with all the happiness, prosperity, and success in this new chapter of your life.”

AAP MP Raghav Chadha wished the couple a “happy and blessed married life” in a photo with the bride and groom. Earlier, he told reporters that Mann’s mother is the happiest because she sees her son readjusting to life.

Mann wore a yellow turban with ‘kalgi’ and a gold-colored kurta pyjama to his wedding, while Kaur wore a red gown.Mann (48) is the first Punjab chief minister to marry while in office. His wife, Dr Gurpreet Kaur, is from Pehowa in Haryana’s Kurukshetra district. Mann is married for the second time. He and his first wife divorced in 2015, and they have two children, Seerat Kaur (21) and Dilshan (17).

Gurpreet Kaur has two older sisters who have moved away. According to PTI, Kaur earned her MBBS from a private university in Haryana in 2018.Mann’s mother and sister, as well as Kejriwal and his family, and Raghav Chadha, attended the low-key wedding.
