Bigg Boss couple Shamita Shetty and Raqesh Bapat announces break-up, issue statement
Actors Shamita Shetty and Raqesh Bapat have finally split up after falling in love inside the ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ house. Earlier that day, on Monday, a photo of Raqesh lovingly planting a kiss on Shamita’s cheek went viral. It turned out, however, to be a still from their upcoming music video, which they have dedicated to their ‘ShaRa’ fandom. There had been rumours about their breakup but no official confirmation until Tuesday, when the couple finally broke the silence and announced their separation on social media.
Shamita took to her Instagram handle and shared a story that read, “I think it`s important to make this clear. Rakesh and I are no longer together and have not been for a while, but this music video is for all the beautiful fans who have given us so much love and support. Do continue to shower us with your love as individuals too. Here is to positivity and Newer horizons love and gratitude to all.”
Rakesh also shared a similar Insta Story. He wrote, “I would like to share with you all that Shamita and I are no longer together. Destiny made our paths meet in the most unusual circumstances. Thank you so much to the beautiful Shara family for all the love and support.”
“Being a private person, I did not want to publicly announce parting ways, however, I feel we owe it to our fans to put this out. I am mindful that this will break your hearts but hope you can continue to shower your love on us as individuals too. Looking forward to all your support. This music video is dedicated to all of you,” added Raqesh.
Shamita Shetty and Raqesh Bapat met in the Bigg Boss OTT house, where they were both contestants. Raqesh later appeared as a wildcard entry on Bigg Boss 15, where Shamita was a finalist. He did, however, leave the show due to health issues. Their split was first reported in March of this year. A source close to the situation told a news website, “Shamita Shetty and Raqesh Bapat are no longer together. They’ve been spotted together and posting photos on social media, implying that they’re working on a music video for a platform.” While it has been speculated that they have called it quits, Raqesh has remained silent on the rumours of their breakup. Shamita, on the other hand, had previously denied rumours of their breakup on social media. “We request you’ll to not believe in any sort of rumours pertaining to our relationship. There’s no truth to this. Love and light to everyone,” she wrote on Instagram.
Shamita had previously opened up about her relationship with Raqesh in an interview with an entertainment website. “We are two distinct individuals who disagree on only a few fundamental issues. I haven’t been in a relationship in a long time, so I’m not used to having someone around. I want to get to know him in the outside world, and hopefully there will be a bright future for both of us “said the actress.
Meanwhile, Shamita and Raqesh will appear in a music video together soon.
