After nearly two decades, the makers have announced a second installment of Ishq Vishk with a fresh cast.
Remember Ishq Vishk that made 90s kids to have butterflies in their stomach after watching Shahid Kapoor? The film gets a reboot, yes, you heard that right. The popular 00s rom-com is coming back with a twist and with a whole new generation of cast.
Let’s admit it, the idea of dating and the way people date have changed a lot in two decades. From meeting the person through dating apps, to making oneself available to the person with just one click away, modern-day dating is a whole new theory.
Tips films have dropped the first look of Ishq Vishk and we could get a glimpse of the new-gen stars. The film will feature Pashmina Roshan, cousin of Hrithik Roshan and daughter of Veteran music director Rajesh Roshan, in a titular role. Other than her, Rohit Saraf, Nailaa Grewal, Jibraan Khan, who played the role of Kajol-Shah Rukh Khan’s son in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, will also be seen in primary roles.
The video opens with a poster from the 2003 film with the words ‘In 2003 true love was found’, followed by a poster saying in ‘In 2023 get ready to reboot’.
Sharing the video, Tips Films wrote, “When relationships can be found on apps, and lost over a chat, you know that love needs an upgrade. ISHQ VISHK REBOUND. It’s time to move on.”
One of the lead cast, Pashmina wrote while sharing the video, “It feels like years of austerity and hard work is finally bearing fruits. I’m extremely excited, nervous and elated to bring to you my first experience on screen. When relationships can be found on apps, and lost over a chat, you know that love needs an upgrade. ISHQ VISHK REBOUND. It’s time to move on,”
While Jibraan, who has been an assistant director of Brahmastra, wrote, “Dreams do Come true.” For the unversed, Jibraan is son of Feroz Khan, who played the role of Arjun in BR Chopra’s Mahabharat.
The film has already started shooting and it will get a big screen release in 2023. According to the makers, “the film has been rebooted to fit the contemporary timeline and offers a modern and relatable take on relationships in millennial and Gen-Z generation.”
