‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’: witness Kiara & Varun’s playful chemistry in soulful track ‘Rang Sari’
The makers of JugJugg Jeeyo dropped the second song Rangisari from the film today featuring Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani. The romantic dance number is a rendition of late classical vocalist Shobha Gurtu’s popular thumri Rangi Saari.
The song has been composed and sung by Kanishk Seth and Kavita Seth, whose rendition of Shobha Gurtu’s popular thumri had become a sensation on social media last year..
The music video of the song shows Varun and Kiara at a dance club. They later get romantic and get lost in each other’s eyes. The peppy remix song will definitely enter all dance playlists soon. Varun and Kiara are also seen performing the hook step of the dance number. The video also features them in solo scenes being showered with colours.
Helmed by Raj Mehta, JugJugg Jeeyo also stars Neetu Kapoor and Anil Kapoor. The film marks Varun and Kiara’s first collaboration but their chemistry has already become the talk of the town. Sharing the song on his Instagram handle, the producer of the film, Karan Johar wrote on his Instagram handle, “Bringing it in hot & ready to vibe, this is bound to get you into a groove too! #RangiSari, song out now! #JugJuggJeeyo in cinemas 24th June.”
This is the second song from JugJugg Jeeyo that has been released. The first track, The Punjaabban song, is also a remix of the Pakistani song Nach Punjaban by Pakistani singer Abrar Ul Haq. The song, which features Varun, Kiara, Anil Kapoor, and Neetu Kapoor, is currently embroiled in a controversy. Pakistani singer Abrar Ul Haq said that he will take legal action against Karan Johar and T-series for using his song in the film. However, T-Series has claimed that they have legally acquired the rights to adapt the song.
JugJugg Jeeyo is a story about family and its values, unresolved yearnings, and unexpected reconciliation. According to the makers, Jug jugg Jeeyo is a family reunion filled with surprises, emotions and a whole lot of drama!”
The family entertainment film went on floors in November 2020 in Chandigarh. Raj Mehta had last directed the multi-starrer comedy film Good Newwz starring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh.
The film marks Neetu Kapoor’s comeback to films after eight years. Also featuring Maniesh Paul and Prajakta Koli in key roles, JugJugg Jeeyo is slated to release on June 24.
