During 2018, when the MeToo Movement was kick started by former actress Tanushree Dutta who had levelled charges of sexual misconduct against the Bollywood actor Nanapatekar, various filmmakers and actors were called out publicly for sexually exploiting the women of the industry.
Appalling stories came out from each and every segment of the film fraternity, from directors to actors, from composers to singers, nobody was spared. In a similar trail of accusations, various actresses, including Saloni Chopra, Mandana Karimi and Sherlyn Chopra levelled allegations of sexual misconduct against the filmmaker, Sajid Khan.
Sajid Khan, who has worked with a majority of A-list actors of the Bollywood Industry, opened up about living through a ‘no-work’ phase. The filmmaker mentioned that he had been sitting at home for the past four years, so when the Colors TV team approached him for BB16, the filmmaker instantly agreed to be a part of the controversial show.
The filmmaker also spoke about developing an arrogant side towards the people after the success of his movie. Sajid Khan said, “It is often said that failure destroys people. But in my case, it was the complete opposite. My success destroyed me. I became extremely arrogant after giving three back-to-back teen hits. So, I thought I had become infallible. I could never make a wrong film.”
Although neither Sajid Khan nor the host of the show, Salman Khan, mentioned the allegations of sexual misconduct that were pressed against the filmmaker in 2018, Sajid’s entry has left the netizens divided on the internet. Sajid Khan’s entry into Big Boss season 16 as a contestant has been facing mixed reactions.
A few people were seen supporting Colors TV and the makers of Big Boss to give the filmmaker an opportunity to reveal his side of the story, while others are brutally trolling the host and the makers of the show for supporting Sajid Khan, who was allegedly an agent of ‘Bollywood’s casting couch’.
