After UP and MP, Uttarakhand declares Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ tax-free
Akshay Kumar’s Samrat Prithviraj will release in theatres on June 3. Ahead of the film’s release, Akshay Kumar arranged a special screening for Home Minister Amit Shah, who praised the film. Now, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has watched the film and has declared it tax-free in the state. A special screening of the film was held by Akshay and Manushi Chillar in Lucknow. Soon after the UP CM’s announcement, Samrat Prithviraj was also declared tax-free in Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

UP CM Yogi Aditynath was mighty impressed with Akshay’s Samrat Prithviraj. He complimented the film and congratulated the director and the cast for showing the rich culture of India. “Akshay Kumar has beautifully shown the history of India in his film. This is why I congratulate the team,” said UP CM Yogi Adityanath.
Later, Yogi Adityanath tweeted in Hindi to announce that the film would be tax-free in the state.
Soon after, similar announcements were made by the state governments of Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan tweeted in Hindi that can be loosely translated as, “The film on the life of great warrior Samrat Prithviraj in which Akshay Kumar plays the lead role is declared tax free in Madhya Pradesh”.
Moments after, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami too announced that Samrat Prithviraj has been made tax-free in the state. He too tweeted in Hindi to make the announcement. The translation reads, “‘Samrat Prithviraj’ movie will be tax free in Uttarakhand. Must watch this film based on the life of Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan, full of patriotism, courage and might”.
