Jhulan Goswami has made the entire country beam with pride with her extraordinary performance and impeccable bowling style. The legendary Indian pacer has represented India in 203 ODIs and has taken a total of 253 wickets. Jhulan has also created a benchmark in the T20 women’s league by taking 56 wickets in a total of 68 T20 matches. The star pacer from India also made a major contribution to India’s victory in the test matches by taking off 44 wickets in 12 test matches.
Bollywood actress, Anushka Sharma, who will soon be seen playing the character of India’s legendary pacer, Jhulan Goswami, in her upcoming film Chakda Xpress, penned a heartfelt tribute to Goswami.
The actress took to her official Instagram account and shared Jhulan’s stills from her last international cricket match to celebrate the pacer’s legacy. The Chakda Xpress actress wrote, “An inspiration. A role-model. A legend. Your name will be etched in history forever. Thank you @jhulangoswami, for being a game changer in Indian Women’s Cricket.”
The movie Chakde Xpress is based on the real life story of Jhulan Goswami. Earlier this year, the Bollywood actress, Anushka Sharma, called it an ‘eye-opener’ in the world of women’s cricket. Sharing the details of the movie, the actress took to her official Instagram account earlier this year and wrote :
“At a time when Jhulan decided to become a cricketer and make her country proud on the global stage, it was very tough for women to even think of playing the sport. This film is a dramatic retelling of several instances that shaped her life and also women’s cricket.”
Anushka Sharma is currently shooting for the last schedule of Prosit Roy’s ‘Chakda Xpress’. The movie will mark Sharma’s much anticipated comeback in the cinema after a gap of four long years.
