Soon after losing the defamation suit by ex-husband Johnny Depp, Amber Heard said in a post that she was sad as she lost the right to speak openly and freely. The six-week-long trial saw many explosive accusations from both parties. According to a report, Amber is planning to appeal the verdict now. For the uninitiated, Depp sued Amber for defamation regarding an op-ed, which was published in the Washington Post in 2018. His legal team has claimed a $50 million compensation payment for the damages caused by the opinion piece.

The jury in Fairfax, Virginia, began deliberating on Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s case last week. The jury has awarded Johnny Depp $15 million in damages. Amber Heard has also won part of her libel case over articles in tabloids, in which Johnny Depp’s former lawyer described her claims of domestic abuse as a hoax. Now, according to a report by Entertainment Weekly, Amber is planning to appeal the verdict in the defamation case.
