Tata Group Recruited Over 400 Rural Women from Nanded, Maharashtra

410 women were successfully selected during the two-day talent hunt

Tata Electronics Private Ltd (TEPL), as a part of their county administrative initiative, has employed over 400 rural women from Nanded, Maharashtra who recently passed their 12th grade exams. The administrative initiative was implemented by the assistant collector Kirtikiran Pujar. Pujar is currently leading a tribal project in the Kinwat area of Nanded in Maharashtra. Kinwat is located at a distance of 360km from Aurangabad.

The assistant collector, Kirtikiran Pujar, contacted Tata Electronics Private Ltd (TEPL). The company’s HR department responded to the assistant collector’s proposal instantly. TEPL, recently organized a two-day talent hunt that took place on September 6 and September 7.

Over 600 women who had passed their 12th grade took an active part in the two-day talent hunt. The Tata Electronics Private Ltd (TEPL) selected 410 women in their two-day talent hunt who had completed their 12th grade. They will be sent to Bangalore for training and then they will be recruited at various positions at the TEPL production facility in Hosur.

When Kirtikiran Pujar was asked about what triggered her to take the initiative, the assistant collector said “By working in a government position, we have a chance to repay the public. I have tried to contact the Tata Group and it has produced results.”

Responding to the further proceedings of recruitment, an official from The Tata Electronics Private Ltd (TEPL) responded “The 410 women who have been successfully selected during the two-day talent hunt will be sent to Bangalore for training and then they will be recruited for various positions at the TEPL production facility in Hosur.”

The official further appreciated Kirtikiran Pujar for taking the initiative and mentioned how women in Nanded, Maharashtra are generally married after completing their 12th grade education and sometimes even before completing their elementary education. Therefore, to put an end to such practice, the assistant collector, Kirtikiran Pujar took the initiative.

The residents of Nanded, Maharashtra also responded to the initiative of recruiting the rural women by Tata Electronics Private Ltd (TEPL) and the assistant collector, Kirtikiran Pujar.

One such Talaigudapada village resident, Rajaram Madavi, expressed his contentment over the initiative and mentioned how this was a revolutionary move for the people of his village. “The people of my generation have never stepped out of Tehsil. We’re grateful for the administrative initiative. My daughter got the opportunity to go to Bangalore, work and become independent.

Sheetal Bhise, who was selected among the 410 women to work at The Tata Electronics Private Ltd (TEPL), responded “Women like me want to do something for their families, but we need a chance. I was given this opportunity with the help of officials from the Integrated Development Project and TEPL. I intend to continue my higher education while on the job.”
